USA Hockey and Missouri Hockey Youth Division require coaches to hold coaching certifications to coach certain levels of hockey. Coaches obtain certifications by required coaching and education clinics.  USA Hockey and Missouri Hockey Youth Division requires all coaches, team managers and trainers undergo a background check before they can participate in any hockey related activity.

Coaching Education Requirements

USA Hockey requires a coach attain a specific level before coaching a team.

Coaching Clinics
Numerous clinics are held on an annual basis in St. Louis at all levels with the exception of level 4 


Coach Screening
Missouri Hockey, in compliance with USA Hockey, will post on this website volunteers who have successfully passed screening and background check. The screening program includes all volunteers who have routine access to children (this includes but is not limited to Coaches, Asst Coaches, Team Managers, and Trainers).


Student Coaching
Students under the age of 18 may obtain a coaching card and assist with coaching a team.
